Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 23 and 24 June, and also the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but to ensure your journey goes smoothly please check if any of the following affect you.
London Underground
Circle line
From Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 June, there will be no service between Paddington and Hammersmith. This is due to Line Modernisation work.
Hammersmith & City line
From Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 June, there will be no service between Paddington and Hammersmith. This is due to Line Modernisation work.
London Overground
After 22:30 tonight, Thursday 21 June, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Chingford. This is due to Network Rail track work.
On Sunday 24 June, there will be no service between:
• South Tottenham and Barking, due to Network Rail infrastructure work
• Sydenham and Crystal Palace from 20:45 until 23:15, due to Crossrail construction work
• Surrey Quays and New Cross after 20:45, due to Crossrail construction work
• Highbury & Islington and Shadwell after 21:15, due to Crossrail construction work
Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:
Westminster – Until 23:59 on Friday 22 June, Victoria Street will be closed in both directions between Broadway and Great Smith Street. This is due to resurfacing works.
London Stadium, Stratford – From 14:00 on Friday 22 until 23:59 on Saturday 23 June, road closures will be in place around the stadium as large pedestrian numbers are expected to increase in the area. This is due to an event.
Westminster – From 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 23 June, the following roads will be closed. From approximately 09:00, the inside lane on the south side of Parliament Square will be closed. From 10:00, Millbank between Parliament Square and Horseferry Road will be closed. From 13:00, roads along Parliament Square, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and their approaches will be closed. From 18:00, there is a possibility of a lane one closure on the east side of Trafalgar Square. From 13:00 to 17:00, roads and their approaches from Carlisle Place to Millbank via Vauxhall Bridge Road will be closed. This is due to various events.
Westminster – From 11:00 to 17:00 on Sunday 24 June, the following roads will be closed: South Carriage Drive from 11:00, Park Lane southbound, Shaftesbury Avenue westbound from Cambridge Circus and Piccadilly Underpass Eastbound and their approaches from 12:00. This is due to an event.
