SA women honored for campaign against nuclear power plans in USA

Liziwe McDaid and Makoma Lekalakala received the Goldman environmental award for their efforts to mobilize South Africans successfully against government plans to spend R1 billion (trillion) on an agreement with Russia to build nuclear power stations.

Two women who were the driving force behind the court case to reverse the South African government’s nuclear power agreement were honored on Sunday with a prestigious environmental award in San Francisco, USA.
