Rugby Nuus – Groom wil vir Engeland in WB uitdraf

Nic Groom wil graag volgende jaar in die Wêreldbekertoernooi speel, maar wil dit glo eerder in ’n Engeland-rugbytrui doen.

Dié skrumskakel, wat voorheen vir die Stormers en Westelike Provinsie gespeel het, het hom in 2016 by die Northampton Saints aangesluit en kan in 2019 reeds kwalifiseer om vir Engeland te speel.

Die WB-toernooi word volgende jaar in Japan beslis.

Na verneem word, vergader verteenwoordigers van die Suid-Afrikaanse Rugbyunie (Saru) vandeesweek met Suid-Afrikaanse spelers in Engeland om hul belangstelling om die Springbokke in die 2019-skouspel te verteenwoordig, te peil.

AB de Villiers to miss half the ODI series against India due to injury

Proteas star batsman AB de Villiers has been ruled out of the first three One Day Internationals against India due to a finger injury.

The 33-year old sustained the blow as he took the catch to remove the dangerous Indian captain Virat Kohli off the bowling of Lungi Ngidi in the first innings of the third Test at the Wanderers where the home side lost to end the three-match series at 2-1 in their favour.
