The first families of Boers, descendants of Dutch, French and German settlers in South Africa, could soon be moving to Russia to escape farm murders, anti-white racism and rising violence against farmers. At least a million, possibly much more, white South Africans have left their country in the past three decades, but most don’t choose Russia as their new home, unlike Johannes du Toit, who is intent on settling there as Ivan Vahrushin.

Liziwe McDaid and Makoma Lekalakala received the Goldman environmental award for their efforts to mobilize South Africans successfully against government plans to spend R1 billion (trillion) on an agreement with Russia to build nuclear power stations.
Two women who were the driving force behind the court case to reverse the South African government’s nuclear power agreement were honored on Sunday with a prestigious environmental award in San Francisco, USA.
